Did you virtually glow with envy when you saw Jennifer Hawkins and Jake Wall’s wedding photos? Want to evoke some wedding envy yourself? Well, we did some ‘research’ (ok, we kinda planned our 11,527th dream wedding) into the perfect Balinese wedding and came up with a couple of ideas.

Jen & Jakes gorgeous Bali wedding!

We are loving the white! gorgeous!

Jennifer Hawkins is glowing on her wedding day!

Now, it depends on whether you’ve got a Jennifer Hawkins-style budget. For those of you who do, we’d recommend you get Bali-bound (honeymoon and wedding all in one, can’t argue with that!).

The Anantara Seminyak (Vegan friendly)

The Anantara Seminyak provides a wide variety of wedding packages and of course, absolutely stunning backdrops. Anantara Seminyak is only a 30 minute drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport and is one of the most luxurious resorts around. The venue can cater to vegan and vegetarian diets.

The Anantara Sensational Sunset Wedding pretty much sums it up. You’ll glide down an isle scattered with rose petals with the sun sinking into the Indian Ocean in the background before saying ‘I do’. Or perhaps the Balinese Bliss Wedding if you’d like to get a feel for the local culture. Think traditional Balinese dancers and flower girls in cultural costumes accompanied by the flowing sounds of Rindik bamboo music for your dream day. Checkout their wedding packages here.

Wedding by the sea, anyone?

Don’t have a model/TV presenter/millionaire’s budget? Don’t fret, you can still have that perfect Balinese-style wedding a bit closer to home. First off, you’ll need to find a gorgeous beach. We recommend;

  • Four Mile Beach (Queensland)
  • Milk Beach (New South Wales)
  • Refuge Cove (Victoria) or;
  • Turquoise Bay (Western Australia).

In each state you’ll be able to hire wedding furniture; Valiant Hire or Ceremonies I do.

Elegant and chic accompanies a beach wedding perfectly

Go for elegant, yet simple seating, a marquee swathed with white chiffon on the inside, glass candle holders (we’re thinking cute DIY!) and nude and white blooms (fairtrade, of course!). Oh, and don’t forget the fairy lights! Everyone loves themselves some softly glowing fairy lights entwined in the foliage, are we right or are we right?

Now ladies, just remember that high heels and sand don’t mix! Once you’ve sorted that out, prepare for one of the most beautiful Balinese weddings you’ll ever experience. Sorry Jen and Jake!
