Looking effortlessly beautiful on your big day is an expensive one. Once the shoes, the dress and everything creating your magical look adds up, there are few penny’s to spare. So here are some creative DIY headpieces to keep your look from head to toe while staying environmentally friendly and saving a few dollars!
Old Chains and Necklaces to Boho Glam
We all have a half-a-dozen or so chains laying around, mind you they are normally in a tangled heap. You can untangle and recycle these to beautiful headpieces, sometimes the more chain colours the better so have fun with them! We never thought we would use these after the 90s, but a spider comb headband comes in handy for this DIY. Placed and pinned over the back top section of hair it will give you the combs to hang the chains from, and can be brought for a couple of dollars off Ebay.
Another way to use chains and old necklaces, is creating an actual headband by looping a hair elastic through the bottoms of the necklaces. You can layer chains for more effect as well.
For those with a more traditional-styled wedding in mind, you can never go wrong with lace. Recycle an old lace dress or T-shirt, by cutting out the laced pattern and supergluing it on a neutral coloured fabric headband or ribbon. Or, you can purchase lace for under $5-10 from your local fabric store.
Real floral headpieces can cost an arm and a leg, but to achieve this amazing eco-look on a budget simply purchase a small hair comb, some quality floral tape, a hot glue gun and of course flowers. Try and include succulents to minimise falling petals.
